In shortA money app for kids that starts like a game: three Savings Superheroes I drew, and a “Start Adventure” button instead of “Next”.

Situation
Money tools for kids usually feel like school, so saving feels like a chore.
Task
In 2023 I designed Questly end to end and drew its characters myself.
Action
I drew three Savings Superheroes who guide kids through onboarding, and replaced “Next” with “Start Adventure” so it starts like a game.
Result
Delivered the full onboarding and an original cast: three Savings Superheroes I drew myself, so the brand owns characters nobody else can copy. The concept was tested with people, and they loved the idea. It’s built to be measured on kids finishing onboarding and coming back to save.

Most money tools for children feel like school. Questly set out to make saving feel like an adventure. I designed the product end to end and drew its characters myself.

01The problem

Financial education for kids is usually academic, so money management feels like a chore. Questly needed to swap that friction for an emotional pull: a story that takes a child from Curious Learner to Savings Superhero.

Stage 2Task: my part

02My part

In 2023 I designed Questly end to end and drew its characters myself.

Stage 3Action: the decisions

03Decision 1 · Mentors, not decoration

I drew a cast of Savings Superheroes: a masked lemon, a caped banana and a third hero in a pink beanie. They act as guides through onboarding. Each one carries a single idea: your superpowers, smart choices, savings that grow.

04Decision 2 · “Start Adventure”, not “Next”

Every onboarding screen ends with the same yellow button: Start Adventure. The label sets the frame. This is a game you start, not a form you fill in. Skip stays in the corner for kids who want to get going.

Delivered the full onboarding and an original illustrated cast: three Savings Superheroes I drew myself, so Questly owns characters no competitor can copy. The concept was tested with people, and they loved the idea: saving that starts like a game, with heroes as guides. Next, every screen is built to be measured on two things: kids finishing onboarding, and kids coming back to save.
